The project

From 2008 to 2017, as project lead, Vincent Jaton designed and directed the new watchmaking museum of the Vallée de Joux. Reopened in May 2012, the Espace Horloger presents a 500 m² permanent exhibition across five rooms, complemented by a shop.

The museum was nominated in 2015 for the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA), then in 2016 by the European Museum Academy. The New York Times devoted an article to it in 2015.

During these years, Vincent Jaton also designed a series of temporary exhibitions there, from “Montres-École” to “Sur les Ailes du Temps.”
